"Not to me, O Lord, not to me, but to your name give glory" ~ Psalm 115:1”

We're glad you're here!

WHY THE UNKNOWN GODCAST?

We are everyday people who enjoy discussing the deeper things in life. We seek the truth of God and enjoy theological discussions and wrestling with tough biblical text. We hope to add a voice to the side of truth in a world that is increasingly hostile to it. We launch The Unknown Godcast with the concept of God casting Shadows of Heaven - a play on the words “God cast” mixed with biblical truths of dim previews and shadows of heaven. The idea for The Unknown Godcast was inspired by, and is based on Acts 17:22-28.  We hope to point to the one true God who has been revealed in the person of Jesus Christ.  "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones of dominions or rulers or authorities - all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together." (Colossians 1:15-17)

We live in a world and culture that is becoming more hostile to idea of God on a daily basis. For this reason we think it’s important to aid in voicing the raw truth of God’s word to an ever growing deaf world. The Christian God is becoming demonized in secular worldview at an alarming pace. Generations of children of whom I was one are being raised in public schools where God has been eliminated. From an early age we are taught a materialistic and humanistic worldview. This is leaving a multitude of young people with no ability, or desire to think deeply about the natural and supernatural world. Moreover, our churches are being absorbed into this world. The rich gospel of Jesus Christ is watered down to a shallow gospel of self improvement and prosperity, displacing the amazing truth of our God. The aim of our podcast is to dive into the unfathomable depths of our triune God. We will ask those around us, christians and non christians what they know and think about God and the gospel. We hope to engage in open civil conversations about who God is.

The Unknown God (Acts 17:22-28)

"So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: "Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, "To the unknown god." What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allowed periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way towards him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, For in him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your own poets have said, For we are indeed his offspring."
